The GingerPear Martini (recipe from Absolut.com)

4 parts pear-flavored vodka

2-3 parts simple syrup *

2 parts lemon juice

2 pieces of ginger (I used piece about the size of the tip of my thumb.)

Muddle ginger in a shaker. Add ice, vodka, simple syrup and lemon juice. Shake well and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with more ginger, if you like.

*I don’t care for sweet drinks. Beth prefers them. 3 parts syrup is what the recipe calls for, but if I were to make it again for myself I’d reduce that to two.
