It’s World Read Aloud Day! Last year I had the great pleasure of “meeting” (over the phone) and interviewing LitWorld Executive Director and Founder Pam Allyn. She and her crew started World Read Aloud Day to acknowledge and take action for the fact that, worldwide, at least 793 million people remain illiterate. Reading to people helps them learn to read. Knowing how to read has a direct impact on health and financial wellness. So grab a book, sit on down, and read aloud to someone today. If you’re extra motivated, head on over to LitWorld.com and show them a bit of financial love. You’ll be making the world a better place.
I have wonderful memories of sitting on my grandmother’s lap while she read me nursery rhymes. I have much fresher memories of reading loud to my children when they were little. What are some of your favorite read-aloud memories? I’d love to read your comments.
