Mom 2.0 Summit

by Leslie on April 25, 2012

Only one more week ’til I’m on a plane from Seattle to Miami for the Mom 2.0 Summit!  Woo-hoo!  What is it? It’s a terrific conference for bloggers whose audience includes moms and the marketers who want to reach them.  I went last year, when it was in New Orleans, and was frankly blown away by what a well-organized and content-rich event it was. I went with no expectations last time, just to experience it. This time, I’m going to be better prepared! You know, suntan lotion, swimsuit, sunglasses, trashy novel …

I keed, I keed.

There is no time for such things at this event. The days and nights are filled with networking, breakout groups, talks, speeches, parties, and the chance to meet and connect with other mom bloggers and with the savvy companies who are eager to connect with this market. (I mean, really, what took the business world so long? Women control the majority of household budgets and make most of the purchasing decisions!)

I’m particularly keen to talk with the folks at Dove. They’re one of the official sponsors of Mom 2.0 Summit 2012 and I think their “Show Us Your Skin” campaign is:

  1. the bees knees
  2. smart, savvy marketing
  3. totally in synch with my message here.

Dove was one of the forerunners in using “real” women in their ads and God bless them for it.

But I digress. Miami. Mom 2.0 Summit. Meeting other mom bloggers. Connecting with sponsors. Staying at the Ritz-Carlton. Saturday night party at the Versace mansion. It’s a tough sacrifice but I will do this for you, my readers. You’re worth it.
